Introducing a New Direction for Light Antics

Light Antics began as a project name I created around 12 months ago, inspired by an idea for a very specific style of photography. While the concept was exciting, the lack of interest or engagement over time suggested that this particular approach wasn’t something people were keen to participate in. That prompted me to step back and reconsider what Light Antics could become—especially before deciding whether to renew the domain name.

Over the past year, I’ve spent considerable time developing my skills through online photography instruction, and during that process, a new and more fitting direction for Light Antics emerged. The project will now focus on three primary photographic styles:

  • Low Key
  • High Key
  • High Contrast

The core idea behind Light Antics is to explore body tone and the way light interacts with the human form—how it reflects, shapes, or is absorbed by the subject. Sessions may take place either indoors or outdoors, though I recommend starting with an indoor shoot. This allows both the participant and photographer to get comfortable, collaborate effectively, and establish a creative rhythm.

Given the nature of this work, the project is intended for older participants. I welcome enquiries from anyone aged 16 and over. If you are under 18, however, all communication must be initiated by a parent or legal guardian so the project can be discussed fully and appropriately.

If this concept resonates with you, I’d love to hear from you and explore the possibility of working together.
